Volynka

The Volynka is a Russian bagpipe, rather rare these days — most Russians never heard of it. A detail common with its Swedish counterpart are the scallops around the finger holes, but on the other hand you can find that on other East European bagpipes, for example some Polish and Croatian varieties. The volynka has single reeds in its chanter and drone, both reeds made from metal tubes with the reed tongue in some plastic material.
This volynka was made by Pavel Stepanov . I mostly play the volynka in C but it is also possible to play in G as the compass is g-g1. The drone is tuned to G.

Pavel also makes other wind instruments, here a zjaleika and a rozjok
