Often regarded as an instrument with Swedish origins, this technically hurdy gurdy-related musical construction probably has a German past. How the instrument came to Sweden and why it rooted itself in a fairly concentrated area in the north of province Uppland remains an unsolved mystery although there are quite a few theories.
